Richard Moore's Bio

My name is Richard Moore I have most recently been the student pastor at Creekside Community Church in San Leandro, CA for the past 8 years. I am now preparing and raising support to be a missionary with Teach Beyond in Germany. I graduated from Columbia International University (Columbia, South Carolina) in 1998 with a Bachelor of Science in Bible and Youth Ministry, all the while gaining valuable experience in youth ministry at Shandon Baptist Church in Columbia, South Carolina. I then moved to Savannah, Georgia where I was Minister to Students at South Effingham Community Church. I returned to Columbia to finish my Masters degree in Leadership, Evangelism, and Discipleship in 2004. During my time in seminary, I worked as Minister to Students at Red Bank Baptist Church in Lexington, South Carolina. I then served at Tommy’s Interactive Church in Columbia, South Carolina, where nearly the entire congregation was made up of students. After finishing my degree, I worked with adolescents at a mental health hospital in Lexington, South Carolina. I am currently working on a Doctor of Ministry degree at American Baptist Seminary of the West in Berkeley, CA (in partnership with Bakke Graduate University in Seattle) I am married to Simone. I met her while working with Tommy’s Interactive Church. My Children are Ana (7) Lydia (4) and Caleb (2). I enjoys sports, playing with my children, hanging out with my wife, and watching movies and our favorite TV shows together. I am passionate about seeing an ever increasing number of students come to know, worship, and obey Jesus authentically.
